I cannot believe we are at the end of another year. Here is how I did on my goals for 2006:
1. Daily Bible reading - I've been horrible about this one. 2. Get re-organized - Almost done only 2 rooms left to do. 3. Continue work on debt repayment - Down to 1 car pmt. & 1 credit card. 4. Finish getting house together & decorated - Blech! 5. Read 1 book a month - 5 books read. 6. Paint 1 memory box a month - Taking a break from this. I was getting too tense & stressed with it. 7. Scrapbook & stamp regularly - Joining a card group that meets twice a month has helped with this one. 8. Exercise regularly - Not even! 9. Find a church to join & SS classes - Still haven't joined a SS class yet. 10. Finish decluttering house - Still working on this one. Craft area looks like an LSS & stamp store threw up in it.
I guess all in all not to bad. Tomorrow I will try to post my new list for 2007.
I know there are more prompts to come and some that I skipped, but I think for my first project in over a year I have done pretty good. I have really enjoyed doing this journal but it is time for me to retire this project and start getting my little craft corner ready to start Stacey's Library of Memories class on Jan. 4th. I have so much that I want to get done in my little corner before the class starts that I need to get busy with that.
I signed up to take Stacy Julian's Library of Memories class on Big Picture Scrapbooking. It starts in Jan. and I am hoping that it will help me get my photos organized & give me new outlook on getting my photos in scrapbooks. I haven't scrapped anything in forever and I keep getting more & more pictures. My youngest is 4 1/2 and I haven't even completed his first year book yet.
I figured I had better get my craft corner better organized before the class starts so I have a place to work in. I have another large pile of stuff to get rid of.
Good grief you should see the huge pile of stuff that I am getting rid of! I will be so glad when I finally get through cleaning out & can sit down and enjoy stamping and scrapping again. Ok back to work cleaning out now.
I'm so ready to scream! I've been trying to organize my craft space & getting nowhere fast. Decided to unmount a bunch of my wood mounted stamps and also get rid of a bunch of them too. The question of which ones to get rid of is the hard part. As soon as I finish going through all of them they are going to eBay. Hopefully I can get some of my money back. From now on not buying anymore wood mount stamps! They take up way too much room of which I have very little.
I attended the Stamp Scrap Art Tour yesterday in Nashville. Spent way too much money. So much cool stuff!!! When I walked in to that big room full of rubber, paper & glitter it made my heart pound & I could wait to see everything. I've heard that they didn't have as big a turn out as expected; I hope that doesn't stop them from holding it again next year. Next year I'll know to make sure I can stay the whole day and not just 3 hours.
My scrap/stamp area looks like a scrapbook store & a rubber stamp store had a party & threw up in it! I didn't do any cards for my last card group because I can't find anything. I have decided to bite the bullet & go unmounted with my stamps. Had to just finally say I'm doing it & stop researching it & worrying if it was the right decision. I do not have space for the hundreds of wood mounted stamps that I currently have. My plan is to buy only unmounted stamps from now on. I have so many cute wood mounted stamps & I'm having a big struggle with which ones to let go & which ones to keep.
Someone please HELP me! I have to get this area organized. Must get hubby to rebuild my shelves asap.
1. Daily Bible reading - I've been horrible about this one. 2. Get re-organized - Still working on this one. 3. Continue work on debt repayment - Down to 1 car pmt. & 1 credit card. 4. Finish getting house together & decorated - Have a long ways to go still. 5. Read 1 book a month - Think I've read only 4 books. 6. Paint 1 memory box a month - Taking a break from this. I was getting too tense. 7. Scrapbook & stamp regularly - Joining a card group that meets twice a month has helped with this one. 8. Exercise regularly - Not even! 9. Ok here are the cards I came up with for my 4th card group kit. I had a really difficult time with this paper. Not sure if I'm thrilled with these, but they are done. I still have my kit from my 3rd meeting that I didn't get to use because of my shoulder & arm problems. I need to get it out and do something with it too.
Paper: Daisy D's, Bazzill, Stampin Up
Stamps: Stamin Up, Hero Arts
Embellishments: Heidi Swapp, Prima, MM
Not sure who makes the ribbon, crystals or the black brad on the lower right card.
I saw the orthopedist yesterday & was told that my shoulder & arm pain are due to me having arthritic changes in my neck & narrowed disc spaces. I am only 39. How can I be getting arthritis this bad already?! Of course the anti-inflammation meds he wanted me to take I can't due to having an allergy to sulfa meds. I start physical therapy next week and we will see what happens.
I have got to start exercising! My grandmother has arthritis & disc degeneration in her neck and is in such back shape because of it. I do not want to end up in chronic pain any faster than I have to. Guess it is definitely time to look into getting us a Bowflex to use. This diagnosis was definitely not what I wanted to hear!
I have spent very little time on the computer the last 12 days due to suffering with shoulder & arm pain. Woke up with a crick in my neck 12 days ago. It obviously wasn't just any old crick, because I have been in excruciating pain. Taking muscle relaxer & pain pills and still not getting complete relief. Hopefully the orthopedic doctor will be able to help me on Thur.
My youngest started preschool today. It was kind of hard dropping him off after being home together for over 4 years. I just pray that he will settle down some & be ready to start kindergarten next year.
This is where I create or should I say try to create. I miss my craft room terrible. Our house in GA has a wonderful 7x10 room that my sweet hubby built especially for me. It had lots of light & space for everything. Since the move I now have a 6x6 foot corner of a room. I hate the color of the walls & flooring and I am despising the desk & shelves. I help design and make these shelves and I really thought they would work, but alas they don't. We have designed a new set of shelves that we will build out the current shelves. Now if my dh would just have the time to help me build them.
The room is our bonus room that we use for a family room/computer room/craft room. Nothing at all about this room is working for me. There are toys & video games everywhere. There is crap sitting on every shelf in the room. This has definitely got to be the next room we paint & decorate! Hopefully now that dh is back to working days we can do something in here. Now to …
Ok here is what I came up with for my 2nd card group kit.
This time we were given 3 sheets of Daisy D's to work with. Kit also had 2 sheets of Bazzill cardstock, 3 pieces of ribbon, 1 large Prima flower, 2 ribbon buckles, 7 crystal like things & 1 Junkitz Washerz. I absolutely could not figure out how to work the washer in to anything, but think I did alright with the rest of the stuff. I have incorporated several stamps in these due to the fact that I own several hundred stamps & have to start using them before dh says no more. The stamps I used were from Stampin' Up, Anita's, Rubber Stampede, & Inkadinkado.
I hope these are a sign that my creativity is returning. I had help with layout ideas from several different sketches & SCS galleries. Thanks!
Today I am the mother of a teenage son. Where did the last 13 years go? It is kind of bittersweet he is trying to become more independent which is what we want, but I'm not ready to let go of my little boy.
Jared and I share a birthday and that gives us a special bond. He has always been a momma's boy & proud of it.

Here are the cards I came up with for my first card group. I recently started going to a card group at Timeless Reflections a local lss. I am pleased with 2 of the cards considering I haven't done much creating recently and the others I'm just not sure I like very much. I didn't like the Rusty Pickles paper very much. It was definitely outside the box for me style wise. I decided to try a waterfall card & a pocket card for the first time, so that was interesting. Now I have to get started working on the next kit. Looking more forward to it, because I just love the papers that are in it.
I finally made a decision to go unmounted with my rubber stamps. Now to get some EZ mount and some Grafix and get to work on my stamps. This will be the prime time for me to look at each stamp in my collections and decide if I really like it enough to unmount them from wood and put them on EZ mount foam. Something tells me that I will be having a sale on eBay soon. This is going to say me a boat load of room and get my craft stuff finally organized.
I also finally got the books I was waiting on from Amazon.com . They are wonderful books and show some terrific craft spaces. But, all of these spaces are huge! I did not glean one iota of an idea for my space from either one. So I'm just going to have to wing it and get organized. Wish me luck!
We are going to have a family portrait made tomorrow. Can I say that I am in no way looking forward to this. As a matter of fact I'm looking forward to this about as much as having bamboo shoved under my fingernails. I know w…
I need something to motivate me to craft. I have a ton of pics I need to scrapbook and I need to get some stamping. I keep collecting all the stuff, but never get anything made. I use to just love to sit down & make something and now I just want to sit. Crafting use to be my release and relaxing. Sometimes now when I think about doing either one I wonder why. I'm certainly not good enough to be published and don't know that most people appreciate the time I put into my stamping stuff.
Everyday I tell myself that I am going to scrap or stamp something that day and I never do it. What has happened to me????
I am amazed at the number of people who spend at least 2 hours a day in pursuing one of these crafts.
If you could choose a different time period to live in, when would it be?
I think it would have to be the 1800's on a Southern Plantation. The movie Gone with the Wind has always been my favorite; even as a child. I loved Scarlett & Melanie. Both of these characters have such terrific strengths, you can't help but love them. Times were hard during the Civil War, but life was much simpler before all the so called improvements & developments.
Half the year has come & gone and it is time to re-evaluate the goals I made for this year.
1. Daily Bible reading - Unfortunately the most important thing hasn't gotten done. 2. Get re-organized - Done 3. Continue work on debt repayment - Still working on this one 4. Finish getting house together & decorated - Everything is unpacked, but still have decorating to do 5. Read 1 book a month - Only read 4 so far. 6. Paint 1 memory box a month - Have taken a break from. 7. Scrapbook & stamp regularly - Not even 8. Exercise regularly - HAHAHA what was I thinking 9. Find a church to join & SS classes - Found a church, but haven't joined SS yet. 10. Finish decluttering house - Done
Guess I'm not doing too bad. Need to get back to work on my list though.
I cannot believe that it has been 3 1/2 months since I posted here. I read other blogs & they post regularly & have so much to say.
I have been trying to learn how to digital scrap. My creative mojo is gone. I want to scrap & rubberstamp, but just can't get up the gumption to do either. I've also been working on getting rid of stuff. I've still got a little more to get rid of.
