I've done something creative every day this week so far!

It is amazing that after not doing hardly anything creative in forever I have actually done something every day this week so far. Here is the card I did for the Color Combination & the Sketch Challenge at SCS. They are 2 separate challenges, but since it was Thursday I decided to combine them together. For the color challenge I have not purchased the new SU In Colors so I had to use the alternate colors, but I really like how this one turned out.

I used retired SU stamp Stippled Hydrangea.

First layout for Class

Here is the first layout for Jessica's new class - Now We're Rockin. We did a couple of really cool things for this one. This was definitely more difficult than the layouts we did for the Up & Running class, but not hair-pulling difficult. I can't wait to see what else she has planned for us.

For this one we changed the photo to sepia & then selectively recolored 1 part of it. That was so cool to do. I'm still struggling with being able to do 8.5x11 layouts, but I'm liking this size very much. It is amazing how much harder it is to do a rectangle in comparison to a square.

Here it is

Here is the card I started yesterday & did not have any ribbon to use on it. I stopped at Walmart this morning while out and picked up this organdy ribbon for 27 cent.
I participated in this weeks Featured Stamper challenge at SCS. This is the card that I cased for the challenge. For this challenge you are suppose to case a card from that weeks stamper and change 2 things. My changes were the colors & the pattern paper.
This is also the first time this stamp set has seen ink. It is a Papertrey set.

Check this before you buy Pink!

I was reading an article in today's paper about companies that are using the pink campaign to increase their revenues without helping the breast cancer organizations. Please be sure to check this sit Think Before You Pink before buying any of the pink items out there. If we all do that then we can be sure that our money is actually helping with breast cancer research and not just that company's bottom line.

Pink for October

October is breast cancer awareness month so I've gone pink for the month. If you want more info about going pink check it out here. I have been fortunate that I have never had anyone close to me suffer from breast cancer. I had a small scare last year when I had my first mammogram done, but thankfully it was nothing.

Every woman over the age of 40 should have a mammogram done. Yes it is uncomfortable, but it is quick and could save your life.
